Discovering Cape Point & Chapman’s Peak on a Private Cape Peninsula Tour

A private Cape Peninsula tour is one of the best ways to experience Cape Town’s spectacular coastline, dramatic mountain scenery and fascinating wildlife. On this tour, I had the pleasure of showing an Irish and Scottish couple some of the most iconic highlights of the Cape Peninsula.

Our adventure began with a scenic drive through the Cape Peninsula before arriving at Cape Point Nature Reserve. We explored the walking paths around the old lighthouse, enjoying breathtaking views over the rugged cliffs and the endless Atlantic Ocean. The clear weather made for spectacular photo opportunities throughout the morning.

One of the most memorable moments of the day came when a curious baboon climbed onto a nearby post and posed just outside the car window. The unexpected encounter gave my guests an unforgettable wildlife experience and some fantastic photographs.

As part of our private Cape Peninsula tour, we also visited the archaeology museum at Cape Point, where visitors can learn more about the fascinating maritime and natural history of this remarkable area. Before leaving, we stopped to admire the beautiful whitewashed buildings and historic lighthouse surroundings.

We then enjoyed one of my favourite walks in the reserve, following the scenic pathway along the cliffs with incredible panoramic views stretching across the coastline and the ocean.

After exploring Cape Point, we continued along the peninsula before stopping in the charming fishing village of Kalk Bay, where my guests enjoyed lunch at the popular Brass Bell overlooking the ocean.

The day ended with a drive along the world-famous Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of South Africa’s most scenic coastal roads. We stopped at the viewpoint to admire the spectacular views over Hout Bay before returning to Cape Town.
