Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our private Cape Town tours, wine experiences, bookings, and personalised itineraries.

GENERAL INFORMATION & BOOKINGS

1. Are all your tours private?

Yes. All our tours are exclusively private, meaning you won’t be sharing your experience with strangers. Each tour is tailored to your interests, preferences and pace, giving you a more personal and flexible way to explore Cape Town and the surrounding regions.

2. How do I book a private tour?

You can book directly through our website or contact us to discuss a personalised itinerary. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation, with the remaining balance payable according to the arrangements confirmed during booking.

3. Do you offer hotel pickups and airport transfers?

Yes. We offer convenient pickups from hotels, guesthouses and private accommodation in Cape Town and surrounding areas. Private airport transfers can also be arranged as a separate service.

4. How many people can join a private tour?

Our standard private tours are ideal for solo travellers, couples and small groups of up to three guests travelling comfortably in our premium vehicle. Larger groups can be accommodated by prior arrangement using a suitable vehicle.

5. Can I customise my tour itinerary?

Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the main advantages of booking a private tour. Whether you’d like to visit particular wine estates, explore scenic routes, discover wildlife or combine several experiences, we can create an itinerary around your interests.

6. Do I need to make my own reservations for activities, wine tastings and restaurants?

No. We take care of the necessary reservations on your behalf, including wine tastings, restaurants, whale-watching excursions and wildlife experiences. Your itinerary is planned around your interests and preferences, so you can relax and enjoy your tour without worrying about the arrangements.

If you already have a preferred itinerary or have made your own reservations, that’s absolutely fine too. We’re happy to incorporate your existing plans into your private tour.

7. What is included in the tour price?

Our private tours generally include your dedicated local guide, private transportation and a personalised itinerary. Wine tastings, meals, entrance fees and optional activities are usually excluded unless specifically stated in your booking.

8. How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly during Cape Town’s busy summer season from November to March. Some popular wine estates, restaurants and activities require advance reservations, especially during peak season.

Last-minute bookings may still be possible, but availability can be more limited. In these cases, we’ll recommend suitable alternatives and adapt your itinerary to make the most of the available options.

WINE TOURS – STELLENBOSCH, HERMANUS & CONSTANTIA

9. Which wine regions do you visit?

We offer three distinct private wine tour experiences:

Stellenbosch Wine Tour: Explore the celebrated Cape Winelands, including Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Somerset West and Paarl.

Hermanus Wine Tour: Discover the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, renowned for its cool-climate wines, particularly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Constantia Wine Tour: Experience the historic Constantia wine region in Cape Town, home to some of South Africa’s oldest and most prestigious wine estates.

Each tour is personalised according to your interests, preferred wines and the estates you’d like to experience.

10. How many wineries can we visit in one day?

Most full-day wine tours include approximately three to four estates, depending on travel distances, tasting experiences and lunch arrangements. We prefer a relaxed pace that allows you to appreciate each destination without feeling rushed.

11. Can we choose which wine estates to visit?

Absolutely. You’re welcome to request specific wineries or even provide your own preferred itinerary. Alternatively, we can recommend estates based on your favourite wines, interests and the type of experience you’re looking for.

We’ll organise the itinerary and handle the necessary tasting and restaurant reservations on your behalf.

12. Are wine tastings included in the tour price?

Wine tasting fees are generally not included unless specifically mentioned in your tour description. This gives you the flexibility to choose your preferred tastings and experiences at each estate.

13. Can we include lunch at a wine estate?

Certainly. We can incorporate lunch at one of the Cape Winelands’ excellent restaurants, from relaxed vineyard dining to exceptional fine-dining experiences.

We’ll recommend suitable restaurants and handle the reservations for you. Meals are generally at your own expense unless otherwise specified.
