A Perfect Stellenbosch Wine Tour with a Canadian Father & Son 🇨🇦🍷

Last Sunday, I had the pleasure of hosting a private wine tour for a father and son visiting from Canada — and it turned out to be one of those perfectly balanced days where everything just flows.
From the very first stop to the final glass of wine in Stellenbosch, everything came together effortlessly — great wine, great food, and even better company.
Starting Strong at Anthonij Rupert 🍾

We began the day at Anthonij Rupert Wines with an MCC tasting at 10:00. This estate has become a regular first stop on my tours, and for good reason.
The MCC is consistently excellent, the setting is beautiful, and it always sets the tone for the rest of the day. Every guest I bring here enjoys it — and this time was no different.
Hidden Gem: Knorhoek 🍇

Next, we headed to Knorhoek Wine Farm for a 12:00 tasting. This is one of those understated, authentic estates that many people overlook — but absolutely shouldn’t.
Knorhoek produces truly exceptional wines:
• Their Cabernet Sauvignon won Best in Show at the Decanter Awards
• They have an award-winning Chenin Blanc
• A great MCC
• And a wide variety of wines to explore
It’s the kind of place that feels real, relaxed, and focused purely on quality.
Wine & Chocolate at Waterford 🍫🍷

Our final official stop was Waterford Estate at 16:00 for a wine and chocolate pairing.
This is always a crowd favorite. The courtyard setting, the architecture, and the overall atmosphere create something special — and the pairing itself is a great way to end the structured part of the day on a high note.
Final Thoughts
This tour had everything:
• Great wine
• A mix of hidden gems and high-end estates
• Incredible food
• And a smooth, natural flow from start to finish
To wrap things up, we also made a relaxed bonus stop at Bartinney Wine Bar in Stellenbosch — the perfect way to enjoy one last glass together.
Most importantly, my guests had an amazing time — which is always the goal.
Thank you again for a great day 🙏🏻🍷
