Private Cape Peninsula Tour: Penguins, Cliffs & Coastal Views

One of the great things about a private Cape Peninsula tour is the variety packed into a single day. From African penguins and dramatic mountain scenery to rugged coastline and spectacular viewpoints, the Peninsula is one of my favourite areas to show visitors.

I recently spent the day exploring the Cape Peninsula with a couple visiting from the UK, taking in Boulders Beach, Cape Point and Chapman’s Peak.

Our first major stop was Boulders Beach, home to the famous colony of African penguins.

Seeing these endangered birds up close is always a memorable way to start the day, and no two visits are quite the same.

Exploring Cape Point

From Boulders Beach, we continued south towards Cape Point, travelling through some of the most beautiful coastal scenery on the Peninsula.

At Cape Point, we explored the reserve and made our way towards the lighthouse, enjoying incredible views across the ocean and surrounding coastline.

The rugged cliffs, brilliant blue water and vast ocean views make this one of the most impressive stops on a private Cape Peninsula tour.

Chapman’s Peak Drive

Later in the day, we made our way along the coast towards Chapman’s Peak, one of South Africa’s most spectacular coastal drives.

The viewpoints along the route offer sweeping views across Hout Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding mountains — a beautiful way to round off a day exploring the Cape Peninsula.
